Lost Birds: how past and present data informs the journey from search to rediscovery

Join us to explore how data shapes our efforts and decision making at the Search for Lost Birds, from past and present evidence being used to guide surveys for species still missing to rediscovery records that trigger new conservation action. Through two case studies with partners in Colombia, speakers will show how both positive findings and negative survey data can improve understanding, direct future searches, and inform species assessments and recovery of lost birds.

Speakers:

John Mittermeier - Director of the Search for Lost Birds Initiative - American Bird Conservancy

Esteban Botero-Delgadillo - Director of Conservation Science - SELVA

Yulisa Navarro - Secretary General - Sociedad Ornitológica De Córdoba

Nicole Stevens - Fellow - Re:wild
