National Red List Indexes: why do we need to produce them and how should we go about it

This series of technical webinars provides an overview of the Guidelines to Setting Up a National Red List Project.

Presenters discussed key points to consider when creating a National Red List Index during this webinar. Also, Domitilla discussed the two approaches to producing RLIs and explained how these two approaches are more or less appropriate for different nations depending on their levels of species endemism. An interactive moderated discussion followed the presentation to provide some context to the ins and outs of developing a National Red List Index and using it to monitor species.

You can watch the recordings here if you missed the previous Reverse the Red webinars.

Remember that this seminar is part of a series of webinars presented by the IUCN’s National Red List Working Group:

  • 19th October 2022, 9:00 EST. National Red List website: how to use it and how to share your national Red List data (Sophie Ledger, Zoological Society of London).
